Reminder About Homework
Homework is an essential part of your child's education. Not only does homework help your child improve his or her fundamental skills, such as math facts and reading, but it is also designed to help build study skills. It is the student's responsibility to make sure that homework is completed each night, placed in his or her Homework Folder, and returned to school on the designated day.
Remember that students should read a minimum of 25 minutes each night, fill out the Reading Log, and get it signed by a parent. The completed Reading Log is due at the end of each week and accounts for a significant part of a student's final Reading grade.
As I mentioned at Back to School night, the 4th grade year is one of great transition. Students are expected to take on a great deal of responsibility, but they need guidance to do this. Please check your child's planner each night to stay up-to-date with what is going on at school. Most importantly, make sure that your child has a set homework routine.
